The Hope for Haiti Initiative is an innovative partnership between the Aslan Youth Ministries Foundation of New Jersey, and Hope International Medical Missions to in Haiti, an area where poverty is widespread. Established in January of 2010 by Andrew Putman and his wife Kendra Putman following the devastating earthquake, Kendra Putman, and Dave Fair, TH4H focuses on alleviating poverty in the developing of a new knowledge base for the medical teams of Haiti, teaching the people of Haiti basic wound care and hygiene efforts, and by strengthening factors that enable economic growth such as other aspects in health and education. The Hope for Haiti is an effort to transform the way healthcare and quality of care is increased in the under developing world of Haiti, by creating opportunities and models for all industries seeking to work responsibly in those regions.
The Nation of Haiti Haiti is a small nation located in the Caribbean Sea on the western third of the island of Hispaniola just 600 miles off the coast of Florida. This tiny nation was once known for its lush, natural beauty, but today is one of the poorest countries in the world. Each and every day the people face the crippling effects of poverty, undrinkable water, high infant mortality, poor medical care, illiteracy and high unemployment. However, given the opportunity, the Haitian people will help themselves. The Hope for Haiti is committed to providing that opportunity.
